Day Webster Education offers a range of SEN (Special Educational Needs) supply teaching and teaching assistant jobs in schools across London. Our day to day supply, long term and permanent SEN teaching jobs are varied, challenging and, above all, infinitely rewarding.
Ideal candidates will be passionate about enriching the lives of children with special needs, and will have experience working with phonics in addition to excellent written and spoken English.
Special Educational Needs teaching is one of the most inspiring career choices for a teacher; from primary school (3-11) through to secondary (11-18) you will be responsible for enriching and transforming the lives of children most in need of dedicated, strong and patient teachers, whether those children have mental or physical disabilities.
SEN Teaching is the perfect opportunity for those who thrive in challenging situations and love to learn and discover new things, much like the children you will teach. Typical duties include those of standard education, but may also necessitate the use of specialist skills such as Braille, sign language, and lip reading. SEN teachers may need to provide assistance to severely disabled children with their medical needs.
Your style of teaching will inevitably be vastly different to that of standard school teaching in order to keep pupils inspired and stimulated, and it is important that you can continually recognise the individual needs of each child in order to provide appropriate and relevant support throughout their learning.
If you are trained to degree level or equivalent as a primary or secondary school SEN teacher, have at least 1 years’ experience in the profession, and either live in the capital or are relocating from abroad, we’d love to hear from you.
At Day Webster Education, we require our SEN Teaching candidates to possess the following:
